Art Basel Miami 2026 opens to the public on 4 December. For one week, collectors, galleries and brands move between Miami Beach, the Design District and Wynwood. The art is the easy part. Time, access and traffic are not.
This guide covers the dates, the venues, the satellite fairs, tickets and where to stay. It is updated weekly until the fair opens.

The venue: Miami Beach Convention Center
Art Basel Miami Beach takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach. The building sits a few blocks west of Collins Avenue, between 17th Street and Dade Boulevard.
Plan on one full day for the main fair. Most visitors who return for a second day come with a short list of booths.

Art Basel is the anchor. The week around it runs across a dozen fairs. These four are the ones most collectors add to their schedule.
Design Miami
1–6 December · Convention Center Drive & 19th Street
Collectible design, next door to the main fair. Preview days on 1 and 2 December are by invitation. Public days run from the afternoon of 2 December to 6 December.

How to get around during Art Basel
Traffic is the single biggest cost of Art Week. Three causeways connect Miami Beach to the mainland, and all three slow down from mid-afternoon. Evening openings in the Design District and Wynwood start just as the fair closes.
Typical travel times
- Convention Center to the Design District: about 5 miles via the Julia Tuttle Causeway. Around 15 minutes on a quiet morning; 45 minutes or more on Art Week evenings.
- Convention Center to Wynwood: about 5 miles via the Venetian or MacArthur Causeway. Allow 20 minutes off-peak and up to an hour at peak.
- Design District to Wynwood: about 2 miles. Ten to 25 minutes depending on the hour.
Private chauffeur
A private chauffeur is the most reliable way to move between venues. The car waits while you are inside, drops you at the door and takes the side streets that avoid the worst of the causeway traffic. Ride-hailing pickups at the Convention Center can take 30 minutes or longer at closing time.

Other options
Valet and garage parking near the Convention Center fill early during Art Week. Water taxis and bicycles work for short hops within South Beach, not for cross-bay schedules.
Where to stay for Art Basel Miami
Miami Beach
Mid-Beach and South Beach put you within minutes of the main fair, Design Miami and the beach-side fairs. Hotels along Collins Avenue sell out first and set minimum stays for the week.
Design District
Quieter nights and direct access to gallery openings, flagship boutiques and private dinners. A good base if your week is built around evening events.
Brickell
Larger rooms, business hotels and easy access to the airport. The trade-off is a longer drive to Miami Beach at peak hours.
Private villas
For families, collectors travelling with a team or anyone hosting, a villa on the water offers space, privacy and room to entertain. Art Week villas book weeks in advance and need staff, transport and supplies arranged before arrival.

- Ticket types: general tickets for the Public Days and premium passes. Prices are listed in the official shop.
- VIP access: the preview days ahead of the public opening are reserved for VIP guests. VIP access is generally arranged through exhibiting galleries and Art Basel partners.
- Satellite fairs: each fair sells its own tickets. An Art Basel ticket does not include Design Miami, Untitled, NADA or Scope.
